Tony Reali Isn't a Big Enough Celebrity to be a Jerk

ESPN films Around the Horn and PTI down here in DC, so it's not uncommon to see Tony "Stat Boy" Reali around town. Last night, as I was headed toward the Metro to ride to the Ted Leo show, Reali comes out of the station, right past me. I look him square in the eye, smile and say "Great show tonight," and he responds with a haughty stare. Yeah, he was wearing headphones, but come on. Easy lip-read, and with the eye contact, he must've known. Usually, bugging "celebrities" isn't my thing, but come on. He hosts a sports talking heads show. Show a little love to the fans.

In other news, the Ted show was incredible. Second night on the tour, and the freshness shows. Full of energy, and he had an extra guitarist, which added a lot to the sound. Voice sounded good, new stuff seemed tight, besides one slip-up in the makes-me-roll-my-eyes "Bomb Repeat Bomb." NPR has a web cast of it, which you can download here.
